Game Client

We recommend using WinRAR to extract as it's much faster and cleaner. WinRar can be downloaded for free here. After downloading, please read the included README.txt file or use the setup guide here.

Setup Instructions

Extract and play

• Extract "GaiaXI_4.7f.zip" to a location of your choice; you may do this by right-clicking "GaiaXI_4.7f.zip" and choosing "Extract Here" if using WinRAR or "Extract All" if using Windows Explorer
• Open the newly extracted "GaiaXI_4.7f" folder
• Game can be played right away by running "Launch Gaia XI"
• To create a shortcut, run "Create Desktop Shortcut" for the default settings
• Game can be played by running "Play Gaia XI" from the new desktop shortcut

Possible Prerequisites

Only download and install the following if your Gaia XI installation does not work as-is.

• Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages for Visual Studio Latest (x86)
• Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages for Visual Studio 2013 (x86)
• Microsoft DirectX

Enable Direct Play for Windows 8/10

Only attempt the following if your Gaia XI installation does not work as-is.

• Press Windows + R to open Run
• Type 'appwiz.cpl' and press OK
• On the left, click 'Turn Windows features on or off'
• Click the [+] next to 'Legacy Components'
• Check the box beside 'DirectPlay' and press OK
• A computer reboot will likely be necessary to complete this modification
